My first contact with a Vesp@VerdeE made by Thomas Bechtiger Motos in Zurich! He and his team is working hard on setting up my Vesp@VerdeE for the WAVE Trophy 2015. Predicted range is about 150km @ 50km/h, and 100km @ 80km/h. Battery capacity is about 7kWh, with fast charging option (1h @ 400V/16A).
For driving on highways, I have been advised to ride close behind a truck. In this way I would save energy by taking advantage of the truck’s wind shadow! Surely, that will work for very courageous Vespa riders 🙂
Driving behind trucks works well. You don’t even have to be very close. Especially when the wind comes from the front this helps a lot.
I ride a Zero SR and I can tell you: When you have wind that comes with more than 100 km/h and tries to pull you off the bike, you will gladly hide behind any truck or bus that comes along 🙂
Luckily those winds are rare and driving a EV usually does not require a truck anymore 😉
Best wishes
Christian
Thank you for your explanations! Being behind a truck is one thing, but this often means being between trucks. Sounds not very pleasant! 😉
